This list is what our current team members speak between them. Not every language is available for every support, day or suburb, so ask us and we will tell you honestly who is available. If your language is not listed, we can still help, and we can use a professional interpreter for important conversations.
How to ask for a worker who speaks your language
1. Tell us when you first contact us
Call (03) 9967 9524 or use our enquiry form and mention the language you would like.
2. Support coordinators: add it to the referral
Note the language and any cultural preferences in the referral form.
3. We check who is available
We tell you which workers speak the language, what days they are free, and whether that fits what you need.
Need an interpreter to talk to us? Call the Translating and Interpreting Service (TIS National) on 131 450 and ask them to call Dilla Support Services on (03) 9967 9524.
More than language
Matching on culture can matter as much as language: food, faith, family roles, how decisions are made at home, and which days are important. Tell us what matters to you and we will take it into account when we choose workers and plan supports. Families from Ethiopian, Eritrean, Arabic-speaking, Indian and many other communities across Melbourne’s west can ask for a worker who understands their background.
