Shared living support is help with daily tasks for people who live with others, whether that is housemates, a host arrangement or a group setting. We provide NDIS shared living support for households in Williams Landing, Caroline Springs, Taylors Hill and across Melbourne’s west.
What it involves
- Help with cooking, cleaning and laundry in a shared home.
- Working out a fair roster for household jobs, and sticking to it.
- Supporting good communication between housemates, including house meetings.
- Help with shared bills and shopping.
- Support with personal routines that fit in with the rest of the household.
Shared living and SIL
Shared living support and supported independent living (SIL) can overlap. SIL is usually for people who need support rostered to the home for much of the day. Shared living support can be lighter: a worker who visits to help with the tasks you share. We will talk through which fits your situation and your plan.
Getting the household right
Living with other people works best when everyone feels heard. Our workers help housemates agree on how the house runs, and step in early if there is tension, so small problems do not become big ones.
